intraday trading swing size?
How big does an intraday swing in trading (primarily Forex) have to be (as a guide). I heard 25+ pips on the m5 is okay? Can anyone elaborate please? I am looking to pick high/lows and retrace areas.
If you are new to FX start small. On a full contract 25 pips is $250. On a mini lot it’s $25. I can limit my downside to about $15 includin the spread which is why people saying Fx is risky is just plain wrong. Try to limit like that on stocks, options, or futues. Your trading style will determine your risk tolerence , timeframe, lot size,
What is swing trading?
I have seen this word used, and supposedly it brings good profits? but i have no idea what it is
any help pleasE?
Swing traders are not day traders, rather these traders follow certain stocks and when they think those stocks are "cheap" they will buy. At the same time when the stock bought has increases enough to meet their investment goal, they will sell. Then they will wait until the stock goes down again, so they will buy again.
The oil stocks in the past were good candidates because they tended to be affected by market news, trouble in the middle east, etc.
Be sure as an investor, you have enough money to buy at least a few hundred shares at a time, so that the buy and sell commissions don’t reduce your profits significantly.
Which chart is best Swing Trading chart for stock buy sell?
rsi, macd, ad, obv, mfi, uo, w%r etc which one or others best?
Support/Resistance
Pivots Points
VWAP
5 day MA
That’s it. For me.
There are no rules as to what’s "best". Trading is an art. Learn a few indicators. Pick the ones you like best. Keep it to a few. As long as you’re profitable on 50% or better on your trades… you’ll be doing well. Always remember…. when it comes to day or swing trading… money management is your most important skill.
whats your favorite swing trading site? or blog?
are there any FREE sites for exchanging daytrading or swing trading ideas?
(i know several free sites for otcbb stocks but i dont know any good swingtrading sites)
any ideas????
I will list my favorite site in the source area, as some people get very uptight about websites being listed. I am convinced there are financial planners on here pushing mutual funds and when they see something recommended other than what they are selling, they report it and try to stop it.
Are you sure you want to try to swing trade or penny stocks?
I have invested in both and it is a very quick way to lose your money.
I just want to make sure you understand that. I like going to a website that offers all sorts of different analysis on different types of investments.

4) As a beginner is swing trading the way to go
5) Does taking a currency course make a difference ?
Only Professional people to answer please !!!
1) How difficult is currency trading ?
Very.
2) Can you really make money trading ?
Yes – you can also loose money, which is not a pleasant experience
3) How many currencies does one suggest I trade as a beginner
Just pick one – say USD/GPB, USD/EUR, USD/AUD or USD/CAD
Become familiar with how it moves over a long term trend & how it reacts to news/events etc..
4) As a beginner is swing trading the way to go
Swing trading is for taking long term positions. You may find that day trading is more your thing – every one is different. Give a few strategies ago in your practice account.
5) Does taking a currency course make a difference ?
It may – as long as its good, you are really motivated, and you practice what they teach.
I would suggest that you open up a demo account & start trading with practise money first. Borrow a couple of fx trading texts from you local library and see if you can both stay interested and trade profitably.
If your still doing it after a couple of months, then you will get the most out of your investment. If you’ve given up the ghost, then its probably not for you & you should save your money.
Most people who do those courses are not trading in 12 months time. Why? because they were not motivated enough in the first place – after a few looses a lot of people give up. Expect to loose money for the first 12 months – it takes that long for most to learn.
